The Theta Digital Pro Gen Va DAC was considered to be one of the finest digital Hi Fi components of the 1990s and is still a compelling music making device. Theta Digital are amongst the most highly regarded High end Hi Fi manufacturers in the USA. It was throughout its production life a Stereophile magazine Class A recommended component. When new it cost in excess of £7,000.

This example was originally a Pro Gen III a (the predecessor model) which was returned to the factory in California for a full upgrade to Gen Va specification. At the same time it was fitted with balanced (XLR) outputs and 20 bit DAC chips and the rare silver front plate (as opposed to black). The unit also has a hardwired Siltech silver mains cable.

It is in very good condition both electronically and cosmetically – there are a couple of tiny scratches on the front plate – otherwise unmarked.

This DAC is hard to find, particularly with this spec. and will provide years of genuine listening pleasure if properly looked after.
